If I wait until I have time to format this blog post, it might not get posted this decade, so here it is!

2010  was a weird music year for me.  I feel like I didn’t get to go to as many shows as usual, but I also went to some of the best shows ever, last year.  Not tons of new bands here, but lots of oldie but goodies. Enjoy.   \(^-^)/

10. Benoît Pioulard – Lasted

Just because.  Also, because I found out Joh was obsessed too.

Lasted

9.  Jeremy Messersmith – The Reluctant Graveyard

He still breaks my heart into a million pieces.  JM finally started to play a bunch in NYC this year, the show at Joe’s Pub was one of my favs of 2010.

A Girl, a Boy and a Graveyard

8. Josh Ritter – So the World Runs Away

Because whenever I leave a Josh Ritter show, I am exponentially happier than when I arrived.  His is my happy music, even when it’s melancholic. And this video is prolly my favorite video of the year.

The Curse

7. Ólöf Arnalds – Innundir Skinni

I kind of want to be Ólöf Arnalds; her folky-cabaret style is so dreamy.  Finally got to see her live for the first time, this year.  Swoooooooooon.

Surrender (Featuring Björk)

6. Real Estate – Fake Blues

I know that this record technically came out last year (but it was november) and I didn’t really get around to listening to it until 2010.  Plus, I went to see Ducktails, a couple weeks ago, so it’s fresh on my mind :)

Beach Comber

5. Mumford & Sons – Sigh No More

I am kind of kicking myself that I was too busy to go and see them when they played last year.  This album has been in my rotation all year.

The Cave

4. Arcade fire – Suburbs

I had to include Arcade Fire on my list this year, not just because I love this album, but they made me think a lot about this year.  Like everyone else, I got this album when it leaked, but I probably only listened to it once or twice because I was busy.  After the Wilderness Downtown + Chrome project came out, it was on my ipod nonstop.  To this day, everytime I here that song, I feel really nostalgic for New Orleans, as if the song was written for my hometown.  Which has made me think a lot about triggers, art and experiences, which leads to, of course, how it impacts the effectiveness of advertising.

Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains) is my fav song (This isn’t an official video, but I kind of kind mesmerized by the creepy suburban, Mad Men like footage.)

3. Jónsi – Go

Uh, if you know me, no surprises here.  Def most epic show of the year, despite being at Terminal 5.  Also, was fortunate enough to snag tickets to the Riceboy Sleeps premiere in November, which was also an epic (but in a polar opposite way) event.

Animal Arithmetic

2. Robin Leduc – Hors-Pistes

This is without a doubt the record that I listened to the most this year.  I am not sure if this is just me, or everyone feels this way – some records make me feel like things are about to change.  There is something super mischievous about Hors-Pistes – like there is something amazing around the corner, you just have to go and look.

Je Casse Tout ( I Break Everything)

[I do wish that I knew what the title of this record means???)

1. Seabear - We Built A Fire

This band can do no wrong in my book.  Every time they record and every time I catch them (4 times last year?) I love them more.

I'll Build a Fire

(Sorry, I just couldn’t really get into the new LCD…)

Here are my favs from 2009.
